My child is being bullied

Write to the chair of the board of governors
Contact the LEA.
Download Preventing Bullying to get some ideas on what steps you can take
As a last option, you can arrange to either move to a new school or educate your children at home - contact Education Otherwise for some advice

Write to the school requesting an appointment with the head
Put in a formal complaint to the chair of the Board of Governors
Ask for training information about the courses that Kidscape offer to help schools deal with bullying. We also have 2 excellent guides for schools so that they can carry out an anti-bullying programme without outside training - How to Stop Bullying: A Kidscape Training Guide and Bullying a Practical Guide to Coping for Schools
Download Preventing Bullying - this should give you ideas about any further actions you can take

Send an SAE to us with the school's address on it and if necessary we can send details to the school of our programmes, books and leaflets for schools. You can ask us to send a copy of the Kidscape Anti-Bullying Policy

Approach the parents of the child concerned if you feel comfortable doing so
If the children are from another school, then contact a representative of the school
Physical assaults and threatening behaviour can be reported to the police
