ZAP-lessons-letterbox.jpg

During 2019 Kidscape will be piloting the delivery of ZAP in schools. This will involve a 30 minute ZAP assembly (full school or year groups) followed by a 2 hour ZAP in schools tools workshop for children in Years 5 and 6, plus the option of a 90 minute parent/carer session.

ZAP assembly

The focus of the ZAP assembly is to provide full school or year groups with an understanding of the difference between teasing and bullying as well as the role of the bystander, in preparation for the ZAP in schools tools workshop. Each assembly will have an emphasis on building resilience and the importance of positive relationships and friendships.

ZAP tools workshop

The focus of the ZAP tools workshop is to provide full class groups with the understanding of how to use ZAP tools in a potential bullying situation. The aim of the workshop is to increase the confidence of children by providing an empowering and practical workshop that increases levels of confidence and provide techniques for dealing with excessive teasing and bullying and developing a positive sense of self.

How to apply

ZAP in schools is currently available in Birmingham, Leicester, Newcastle, London, Bristol, Cheltenham and Wales.
